What is the best quality setting?
For photos, 80% is nearly indistinguishable from the original. For screenshots keep 90–95% to preserve text clarity.
Does compression lose colour accuracy?
Slightly at very low qualities. At 70%+ the shift is imperceptible on typical screens.
Can I compress the same file twice?
You can, but doubling up on lossy compression amplifies artefacts. Compress once from the original.
Do you keep EXIF data?
By default no — metadata is stripped to save bytes. Some tool versions expose a toggle to keep it.
